Welcome to JB’s Teas
JB’s Teas is a company that grew out of love, loss, passion, stress and boredom. Not what you expected, right? While our story is unique, at least it is on par with 2020 – the year we started and the year where nothing happened as expected. But let me first back up and introduce myself. Hi! I’m Lindsay, and I’m a young professional with a love for yes, tea, but also hiking, camping, exploring, traveling, cooking, and gardening. I graduated with a degree in Architecture and moved to Santa Fe after college to work with an incredible non-profit focused on sustainable architecture and development.
Fast forward to 2020. Right after New Years, I lost my best friend and companion of 12 years, James Bond, who was a spunky, loving, amazing boxer dog. James Bond, or JB, brought so much love and happiness into the world and I was incredibly fortunate that I got to be his person, and him mine. Three months later, COVID-19 hit the US full-force, and much of the country, including New Mexico, entered a quarantine. Like many of us, my work shifted from the office to working from home, and my world got even smaller. I was stuck at home, scared, anxious about what the future held and about job security, lonely from the loss of my best friend, and in need of a creative outlet.
Tea has always been a comfort for me, so in my free time at home, I started making my own tea blends, and fell in love with the creative process and the delicious outcomes. I loved experimenting with unique flavor combinations, capturing the flavors of a place or memory, and learning more about the health benefits of so many herbs and fruits. I also loved the comfort and the happiness it brought in some not so bright times. Honoring the memory of my best friend, I named my little creative venture JB’s Teas.
JB’s Teas is now an LLC and it brings me immense happiness to share my delicious teas with you all. Every blend comes from many hours of work and countless blend iterations, and I only sell the blends that I love and drink regularly as well. Every tea is made with love and passion, and I hope my teas bring you the same comfort and happiness they bring me.
